Controversies Never Escape Any Mayor’s Administration
Tulsa mayoral candidates talk about controversies during their terms

No mayor leaves office unscathed.
Former Mayor Kathy Taylor certainly didn’t. And Mayor Dewey Bartlett, now in his fourth year in office, has suffered a few nicks and bruises.
On Nov. 12, Tulsans will pick either Taylor or Bartlett to lead the city into the future. Part of that calculation will be based on the candidates’ accomplishments ones the candidates are quick to tout on the campaign trail.
What they’re less likely to mention are the controversies, the issues that created heartburn for them and prompted questions from residents.
Here are a few of the major controversies the candidates have endured and their thoughts on them today.
