Sen. Holt Asking OSSAA To Allow Re-Play Of Controversial Football Game

Oklahoma State Senator David Holt, R-Oklahoma City, has voiced his support of the Douglass High School football team to have an opportunity to replay the final minute of its controversial loss to Locust Grove in the Class 3A quarterfinals Friday night.

Holt wrote a letter to the OSSAA on Sunday, asking the organization to grant the request by Douglass and Oklahoma City Public Schools to replay the final minute of the game, beginning at the point where a go-ahead Douglass touchdown was negated by an inappropriately enforced penalty.

Rather than leading 25-20 with just over one minute to play, the Trojans’ touchdown was taken away, and they lost 20-19.
