The Oklahoma City man accused of selling cocaine to Chad Alexander described the prominent political consultant and lobbyist as “out of control,” police said.
Sammy D. Dehart, 41, was charged Monday in Oklahoma County District Court with cocaine distribution. He was arrested Wednesday.
Dehart is accused in the felony charge of delivering cocaine to Alexander on May 13.
Alexander was arrested that evening shortly after a police inspector saw him and Dehart inside a car at the Deep Fork Grill in north Oklahoma City. Alexander admitted purchasing $200 worth of cocaine that evening for his personal use, police said.
Before his arrest, Alexander, a former Republican Party chairman, was considered one of the state’s most influential political consultants. As a lobbyist, he has helped the University of Oklahoma and others with issues at the state Capitol.
OU did not renew his contract.
