OKLAHOMA CITY – The Tulsa area had mixed success in the 2013 legislative session, several leaders agreed Friday.
When the Legislature adjourned for the year Friday night, it had approved some measures championed by Tulsans, including workers compensation reform, increased school funding and money for a Tulsa medical institution.
At the same time, the education budget was not large enough to satisfy some Tulsans, local efforts to protect hospitals from shifts in federal health-care financing failed and promotion of a downtown popular-culture museum went nowhere.
“The Tulsa Regional Chamber and the 61 endorsers of the regional OneVoice legislative agenda are pleased with the progress made during the 2013 session,” Amanda McConnell, spokeswoman for the Tulsa Regional Chamber, said in a prepared statement.
