DANA MURPHY LAUNCHES RE-ELECTION WITH $550k IN CAMPAIGN FUND

Republican Dana Murphy has raised more than $200,000 in the past 40 days and now has more than $550,000 as she kicks off her campaign for Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner.

“I remain committed to serve our great state with the same work ethic, expertise and dedicated service I have demonstrated over the last seven years,” says Commissioner Murphy. “I am truly humbled by the incredible generosity and support given to me from all across Oklahoma in my bid for another term as Corporation Commissioner. In these challenging times, it is more important than ever to have an well-reasoned, knowledgeable and seasoned regulator who can offer fair solutions to the tough issues facing Oklahomans.”

Dana Murphy was first elected to the Oklahoma Corporation Commission in 2008 and, according to her base of supporters, has been a reasonable, independent and balanced leader. Commissioner Murphy has worked with a diverse array of stakeholders including rate-payers, consumers, industry leaders and royalty owners to provide a watchful eye over regulatory issues in Oklahoma.

“I will always be a champion for Oklahoma,” says Commissioner Murphy. “I am always willing to make difficult decisions in an increasingly complicated and technical regulatory environment. Commissioner Murphy has more than 30 years experience dealing with the full spectrum of energy issues in Oklahoma. Prior to serving on the Corporation Commission, Dana Murphy worked as a geologist, attorney and Administrative Law Judge at the Corporation Commission.

The GOP primary election is scheduled for June 28, 2016. The general election will be November 8, 2016.
