Senate Race Puts Spotlight On GOP Stars
Senate primary race in Oklahoma draws GOP rising stars

Oklahoma Republicans look forward to June’s U.S. Senate primary with a combination of excitement and regret.
In 5th District Congressman James Lankford and Oklahoma Speaker of the House T.W. Shannon, the GOP has two attractive candidates with political credentials accepted by all but the most austere elements of the party.
Jason Weger, a political unknown from Norman, has also declared as a Republican candidate.
No matter who wins, the GOP will wind up with a young, conservative, attractive nominee likely to not only win November’s general election but also remain a force in national politics for decades to come.
