JC Watts Endorses Dave Rader for State Senate

Tulsa—Former Oklahoma Congressman JC Watts today endorsed Dave Rader in the race for Senate District 39, a district that will be vacated by Senator Brian Crain due to term limits.

“From playing college football at OU to my time in Congress, I have learned a lot about what it takes to lead a team and accomplish success, and Dave Rader has what it takes to do that as a State Senator from District 39,” said Watts. “Some might say my endorsement of Dave is from one quarterback to another, but it is much, much more. Since our first meeting many years ago at a Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting, I have seen Dave continually put his many skills and abilities to work to lead people and teams to their greatest good and highest purpose. That’s exactly what Oklahoma needs in the State Senate. I am proud to support such a hard-working, smart and honest individual as Dave Rader and urge all District 39 residents to vote for Dave for State Senator on June 28.”

Rader was grateful to receive Watts’ endorsement, citing the importance of leadership in Oklahoma’s state government.

“We are thankful for JC’s endorsement and appreciate him joining in support of our campaign,” said Rader. “JC understands that Oklahoma faces a crossroads, being in need of leadership as we continue to wade through unknown waters. Our campaign has a great vision for Senate District 39 and we would be honored to see that vision come to fruition as your next State Senator.”

Rader lives in Tulsa with his wife of over 37 years, Janet. They have 3 children; Daniel, honorably discharged as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy with a Mechanical Engineering degree from OSU and now working at John Zink Company in Tulsa, and is married to Deidra, and parents to twins Jett & Jax; Jordan, PhD in Nuclear Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology living in New Jersey, and is married to Emily, and parents to J.D.; and Kendal, a graduate from TCU with a Speech Pathology degree and the University of Tulsa with her Masters, and now employed by Little Lighthouse. Rader and his wife Janet attend First Baptist Church of Tulsa where he serves as Deacon and Bible study leader.
