Mayoral Debate Turns Out To Be A Scraper
Candidates come out swinging in Tulsa mayoral debate

Don’t be surprised if Tulsa’s mayoral candidates show a few bumps and bruises from here on out.
The first televised campaign forum of the general election season Tuesday night was a playground fist fight, with few punches pulled as the candidates jabbed each other on spending policies, political philosophies and plenty more three weeks before the Nov. 12 vote.
Mayor Dewey Bartlett called former Mayor Kathy Taylor an Obama-supporting, “deficit-spending” Democrat, challenged her claims that she supports gun rights and criticized her decision to move City Hall as a back-breaking expenditure.
Taylor blamed Bartlett for the city’s current budget shortfall, called his stance on green waste “either unbelievable or irresponsible” and accused him of “turning a deaf ear to citizens.”
