LT. COL. STEVE RUSSELL WINS CONGRESSIONAL SEAT

November 4, 2014

Lt. Col. Steve Russell has won Oklahoma’s 5th District Congressional seat in a landslide victory today.  He beat his Democratic challenger, Al McAffrey, with more than 60% of the vote.

“I am honored and humbled that you have given me your powerful voice to represent yours in Congress,” says Congressman-elect Russell.  “Oklahomans have spoken and they want principled, constitutional conservative leadership in Washington and I thank them for entrusting me with such an important duty.”

The general election win is the culmination of 10 months of hard word and dedication through a 6-candidate primary and a primary runoff.  But Congressman-elect Russell says the election marks a beginning, not an end.

“We fought a hard campaign based on honesty, integrity, and principle.  I will now carry that fighting spirit, on behalf of the 5th District, to the halls of Congress.  The election is over but the real work is just beginning.  I want the voters to know I will work tirelessly every day to represent their best interests in Washington.”
