LT. Gov’s Young Professionals Conference In OKC This Week

LT. GOVERNOR TODD LAMB TO HOST YOUNG PROFESSIONALS CONFERENCE IN OKLAHOMA CITY
October 8 conference to connect young professionals to experts in their industry 

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (October 6, 2014) – Lt. Governor Todd Lamb will host the Lt. Governor’s Young Professionals Conference on the Devon Tower’s 50th floor on Wednesday, October 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This conference will bring together young professionals from the state of Oklahoma, providing them an opportunity to engage and connect with other young leaders as well as Oklahoma industry frontrunners. The conference’s theme, “Beat Texas”, will focus on and highlight the entrepreneurial greats of Oklahoma.

“Keeping our next generation home is paramount to growing our economy,” Lt. Governor Todd Lamb said. “Young professionals are important to the present and the future.”

The Lt. Governor will give opening and closing remarks while Burns Hargis, president of Oklahoma State University, will headline the conference as the keynote speaker.

Burns Hargis is the 18th president of Oklahoma State University. Hargis oversees all of OSU’s systems with more than 37,000 students, 7,400 employees, and campuses located in Stillwater, Tulsa, Oklahoma City and Okmulgee. He has guided OSU to record enrollment and record fundraising, reaching the $1 billion Branding Success campaign goal in April 2013. Prior to OSU, he was Vice Chairman of Bank of Oklahoma, N.A. Before joining Bank of Oklahoma in 1997, Hargis practiced law in Oklahoma City for 28 years, most recently with the firm of McAfee & Taft. Hargis received the state’s highest honor when he was inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame in 2009.

The Lt. Governor’s Young Professional Conference will also include three speaker panels:

·      “CEOs, What Do You Do?”- How and where did these CEOs get their start? Find out how CEOs encourage growth in their organizations. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from these organizational leaders.
