Lankford To Headline ‘Protect Life And Marriage Oklahoma’ Rally This Weekend

SEN. JAMES LANKFORD TO HEADLINE PRO-LIFE RALLY AT OKLAHOMA CAPITOL

U.S. Senator James Lankford (R-OK) will join more than 700 pastors and their congregations at the Oklahoma State Capitol to promote pro-life and traditional family values.  The rally, organized by Protect Life and Marriage Oklahoma, is scheduled for Sunday, October 25th, at 4pm.

“We have been working tirelessly with pastors throughout Oklahoma,” says rally organizer Pastor Paul Blair.  “Oklahoma has a unique opportunity to set an example for every State Legislature in the U.S.  Our lawmakers can establish a new precedent by standing up to a renegade Supreme Court that has no regard for the Constitution.”

By networking with church leaders across the state, Protect Life and Marriage Oklahoma has gathered tens of thousands of signatures for its online petition.  Each signature is a call to end almost all abortion in Oklahoma and uphold the lawfully amended Oklahoma Constitution which defines marriage as one man and one woman.  More than 40 lawmakers have signed the petition.

“The Declaration of Independence speaks of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  Life is the foundational right from which all others flow and it is time we stood to defend it,” says Senator Nathan Dahm (R-Broken Arrow).  “I invite all to join us in taking a stand and would encourage everyone to find out if their elected officials are willing to sign the petition and take that same stand with us this legislative session.”

Organizers of the rally expect thousands of Oklahomans to attend as Pastors have invited their entire congregations to have their voices heard.

“This is the moral battleground of our times,” says Kevin Clarkson, Pastor of First Baptist Church in Moore.  “I’m proud to join more than 700 fellow Pastors who value the Judeo-Christian principles that, sadly, this country seems to be shunning.  The peace and prosperity of our country has been built on the strength of our moral fiber.  We hope this rally will launch a new momentum that inspires every other state to follow suit.”

The rally will be on the south lawn of the State Capitol on Sunday, October 25, from 4 to 5:30pm.

People can sign the petition by going to www.ProtectLifeAndMarriage.com and RSVP for the rally on the Protect Life and Marriage Facebook page.
