State schools chief remains ‘focused on kids’

State schools Superintendent Joy Hofmeister said Tuesday her pending legal issues will not distract her from focusing on doing what’s best for Oklahoma public school students.
“You know, we’re just staying focused, we’re staying focused on kids, the students in classrooms, and the work that I was sent to do,” Hofmeister told reporters following a state Board of Education meeting in Oklahoma City.
“There is much work to do in Oklahoma and I will continue to remain committed and not distracted, and that is what fuels me and drives me forward.”
