OKLAHOMA CITY – Gov. Mary Fallin declined Friday to ask state Auditor and Inspector Gary Jones to conduct a performance audit of state Insurance Commissioner John Doak.
Sen. Harry Coates, R-Seminole, asked Fallin on Thursday to request the audit after calling Doak’s spending frivolous.
Doak has spent thousands on chamber memberships, lapel pins, motivational reading materials, clothing, uniforms, travel and lodging and other items.
